Otis Cultural Council

September 16 ,2020

 

 

Attendees:  Jeanne Randorf, Deb Fogel, MaryJo Engels, Shanon Albee, Arlene Tolopko, Carol Lombardo

 

1.Virtual Meeting called to order at 6:05pm

 

  1. Minutes of the August 19,2020 meeting approved by MaryJo Engels and Arlene Tolopko

 

  1. Chair Report : Jeanne Randorf: :

 

Status of State funding from the Mass Cultural Council: no budget has been received from MCC for FY 2020-2021. OCC Members will be kept up to date on lobbying for the money. Vicki Ernst will be resigning from the OCC at the end of her term in 2021.

 

1V. Financial Update by Shanon Albee: Encumbered funds need to be held. FY2019-2021 accountant report is ready for review. Shanon will go over the document line by line. The Otis Quilt Club is disbanding and grant money will not be encumbered. Funds are still being raised for the electronic signage at the Farmington Elementary School.

 

  1. The new grant period for 2021 has gone very slowly due to COVID 19 and its effects on venues and closures. Leigha Chaffee’s diversity program is still being looked into. The OCC Annual Arts Festival has been cancelled for 2021.

 

V1. Deb Fogel and the recycling team are looking into the funds we receive as the OCC share of revenue with the goal of making the communication more transparent. Income received from the recycling project will go towards the signage board. Jeanne Randorf will contact Eric Jesner at FRRES in regard to the eventual purchase price of the digital sign.
