Otis Library Fair Meeting Minutes

Otis Library – Hybrid
Members present: Sue Brofman, Tom Burke, Diane Dyer, Susan Ebitz (Zoom), Lois Hall, Brad Havill, and Celeste Watman,
Susan Brofman called the meeting to order at 6:05 PM.

Upcoming Library Fair:
The first topic of discussion was the raffle. Sue pointed out that the raffle format had been chosen when Tom, the Raffle Chair, had not been present. Discussion ensued weighing the “pros and cons” concerning changing the raffle from a “choice,” raffle where ticket holders could put their tickets into containers for prizes of their choice or using a single raffle container and giving out the prizes from the greatest to the least. Concerns were raised about overturning a previous board decision and not giving patrons a choice, however after much discussion a motion was made, seconded, and unanimously approved to conduct a traditional, single container, raffle.
The remainder of the meeting was spent discussing the details and specifics of the upcoming annual fair.
The meeting adjourned at 7:25 PM.
