Selectboard Meeting Minutes

Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at 6:30 PM
This meeting will be held in person at the location provided on this notice. Members of the Public are welcome to attend.
Attendance: Gary Thomas, Terry Gould, Larry Southard, Larry Gould, Kathy Couch, Rick Phair, and BJ O’Brien.
Call to Order: 6:30 PM
Approval of Minutes: The minutes from June 7th were approved as written and the minutes from June 27th were approved as amended.
Appointments: This was continued from our last meeting. There was a short discussion. Compensation is to be discussed at a follow up meeting. Larry made a motion to appoint Larry Gould as the MLP Manager with a term ending June 30, 2024. Gary seconded and the motion passed. Terry made a motion to appoint Scott Bergeron and Nick Weidhaas as constables with terms ending June 30, 2024. Motion was seconded and passed unanimously.
EMS Services: Rick Phair gave an update on the Otis Rescue Squad. One employee had recently left and they have also received 5 applications. They have since appointed two co-directors. Rick feels things are turning around. They’ve hired a new per diem and have an additional member on the Fire Dept.
Recent & Upcoming Events: The one bank in Town has indicated they are closing. Terry will draft a letter and send to find out their intentions.
Review & Approval of Warrants: Payroll and vendor warrants are on the table for signature.
Not Anticipated: Kathy Couch was in to discuss the recent work on Algerie and Reservoir. She was inquiring about the lines being painted and additional speed limit signs. She also questioned the material that was put down at the road edge. Follow up with Derek needed to find out. The speed bumps are down on Great Woods Road and we are seeing more cones than ever. Gary will follow up with the Police in regard to the cones.
