Cultural Council Meeting Minutes 06/21/2023

MINUTES

    Otis Cultural Council

     June 21, 2023

 

This meeting was conducted in person and on Zoom.

 

1. Call to Order: 6:05 p.m. Present:  Jeanne Randorf, Shanon Albee, Carole Burke, Arlene Tolopko, Deb Fogel, Carol Lombardo.

 

2023. Approval of the Minutes of May 17, 2023. Deb Fogel motioned to approve the minutes.  Arlene Tolopko seconded the motion.  The minutes were approved.

 

III.  Chair Report (Jeanne)

1. Update on Flower Barrel Planting:  Jeanne reported that some of the barrels have not been planted, and we need volunteers to plant flowers.

 

1. Treasurer’s Report (Shanon)
2. Shanon reported that after the following purchases (school screen, Bruce Mandel, Library Night, Fitness Class, Line Dancing, and Ken Packie sculpture) there will be between $11,000-$12,000 left in the recycling account.

 

1. Audio System for FRRES
2. Arlene proposed purchasing an audio system for the school.  This would include 8 wireless headsets ($599 each) for a total of $4,792.  This money would come from the recycling fund.
3. Michael Flower will be in charge of the safety of the headsets.
4. The committee approved to purchase the headsets. We may revisit this if they need more money for additional add-ons such as a service contract.

 

1. Programs
2. Bruce Mandel has postponed until the fall.
3. Meet-n-Greet has been put on hold.
4. FRRES reimbursement requests—they have not sent anything to Jeanne.
5. Summer Programs—Please refer to the summer flyer.
6. Fitness Class—Everyone enjoys the class

 

VII.  Recycling Program:  Deb reported that the program is doing well.  We have received 2 checks totaling $2,500 this year.

 

VIII.  Next Meeting will be on Zoom on July 19.
