    Otis Cultural Council

     May 17, 2023

 

This meeting was conducted in person and available on Zoom.

 

  1. Call to Order: 6:09 p.m. Present:  Jeanne Randorf, Carole Burke, Arlene Tolopko, Deb Fogel, Carol Lombardo.

 

  1. Approval of the Minutes of April 19, 2023. Deb Fogel motioned to approve the minutes.  Arlene Tolopko seconded the motion.  The minutes were approved.

 

III.  Chair Report (Jeanne)

  1. Update on Flower Barrel Planting:
  2. Jeanne sent emails to last year gardeners. She has not yet heard from everyone.
  3. Jeanne checked all of the barrels. Jeanne and Deb bought three barrels at the Home Depot for $44.00 each.

 

  1. Treasurer’s Report: Shanon Albee was not able to attend the meeting.

 

  1. Programs Coming Soon

 

  1. A. Bruce Mandel: His program has been delayed until the Fall due to illness.
  2. Senior Exercise Program:Many seniors go to the program, and they enjoy it.
  3. Jeanne asked Laurie Flower about the projector and screen.
  4. Summer Programs: Summer events in the Otis Library (David Maloof, Ed the Wizard)
  5. A teacher from the elementary school is taking her class to the Forest Park Zoo. There are fewer students going on the trip than anticipated, so she has requested that they use the extra money to purchase mementos at the gift shop.

 

  1. Recycling Program: Deb reported that the program is doing well.

 

VII.  Other Business

 

  1. The Meet and Greet Committee will have a meeting on May 31 to discuss the event.
