Secretary’s Report, Board Meeting March 4, 2024

The meeting was called to order at 9:04. Present were Kendra Rybacki, Diane Dyer. Evie Loring. Elsie D”Votie, Dede Loring, Janice Hawley, Bill O’Brian, Nancy Kris, Linda Louis and Ralph Gleason.

The secretary’s report was read and excepted.

The Treasurer’s report was postponed until next month.

Diane reports, the trips are active. There are 34 signed up for the Culinary Institute. We have 10 maybes on the table. The trip to Margaritaville is filling up fast.

The foot Nurse review is excellent.  The price seems to be working well. Due to the excellent work, she does run behind at times, every patient is very happy with her.

The CHP Van is not always reliable. Late cancellations are not fair to elders or the crew that has set up the room for their use.  We will voice our concerns. Ralph state that dern the covid out brake, this responsibility rolled over to the COA, but was the board of Health’s responsibility.

Annette Devine Show was not what seniors like. It was decided not to pursue her to entertain.

Pot Luck Luncheon will be a St. Patrick’s Day theme. Larry Southard will be entertaining.

The out to lunch in April suggestions were. The Frog, Tuckers and Comfort Kitchen.

Structure of the Board. Evie would like to be removed from the board and the checking account.

Kendra can not be on the board as a member while acting as the Outreach Coordinator and being paid by the board.

If Kendra leaves the Out Reach, we would like candidates for replacement come in and view the job before a decision on the replacement is made.

When and if we are to have a director, Diane would like the COA board to interview the candidates.

Eila said this was a town position. The select board would hire the director. The director will answer to the select Board. We could ask to have some input on the hiring of this person.

We decided to hold our meetings at 2 PM. There is to much noise with hairdresser in the room.

For the holiday luncheon, we will check with Tuckers in Southwick on affordability. Zucchini’s was another choice.

A Grief Support Group will meet on March 13th. At 1:30 pm.

Diane and Kendra are working to get the website up and running.

The meeting was adjourned at 10:10 AM.

Respectfully Submitted
