Otis Cultural Council
November 9, 2022
This meeting was hybrid. (Zoom and in-person)
- Call to Order: 6:15 p.m. Jeanne Randorf, Carole Burke, Shanon Albee, Arlene Tolopko, and Deb Fogel were in person. Carol Lombardo participated on Zoom.
- Approval of the Minutes of August 17, 2022. Deb motioned to approve the minutes. Arlene seconded the motion. The minutes were approved.
III. Chair Report (Jeanne)
Annual Report: Shanon filed the report.
Community Surveys: The Otis Cultural Council is required by the Massachusetts Cultural Council to periodically do a survey about our programs and what events the community would like. Town Hall will send the survey to everyone with a registered email address.
- Financial Update: The Otis Cultural Council has $15, 500 for grants. This does not include the $28,000 from the recycling program.
- The council voted to give $11,272 for all youth programs plus the Bruce Mandel Songwriting Workshop and grants for workshops and performances.
- The council voted to give $4,250 in donations.
- Total: $15,522
- Other Business (Arlene):
In addition to the grants and donations, the council voted to fund a screen for the Farmington River Elementary School and will give $3,000 to Ken Packey to create a new statue for the school. The funds for these items will come from the recycling program.
The next meeting will be January 18, 2023 at 6:00 p.m.
