Agenda item #1 – Review and hear the Special permit application
Case # 2017-03-01 Carole Ann Saloomey and Tammy Saloomey Tavernia
The property is shown on the Otis Assessor’s Map 11, Lot 79-4 located at 31 South Bay Road, Otis

Meeting at convened at 7:00 pm.
Chairman Therese Gould opened the meeting. Introduction of board members was made. Terry read the public notice.
Point of order: Terry reminded the applicant that there are only four board members available to hear this special permit. All four members must vote in the affirmative for the special permit to be granted. The applicant can decide to wait until the next meeting to for there to be five members then only 3 of the five members need to vote in the affirmative for the special permit to be granted. This is a continuation of the March 6, 2017 and April 3, 2017 meetings.
Ziter Saloomey stated that the survey/plans that were submitted to the board at the March 6th meeting were incorrect.
Jon Goddard, R. Levesque Associates, presented to the board. Mr. Goddard stated that survey was reviewed and it has been discovered that the original survey has errors.
Jon Goddard read a letter into the record from the surveyor, Marc E. Shute. The letter included clarification of the survey, correction of the plan and clarification of the boundary with the Schoenrock’s.
Copy of the letter is in the file.
Larry Gould stated that the house will be in the similar footprint of the existing house. There has been an agreement with the Schoenrock’s to go forward with the construction of the house using the most current survey/plans.
Kathy Couch made a motion to grant the petition for the special permit on the plans submitted to the board at the meeting tonight. Jim Kauffman seconded the motion. All board members voted to approve the special permit.
Terry Gould advised the applicant that the special permit will sit in abeyance for 20 days with the town clerk. Then applicant can pick it up on the 21st day. File it with the Registry of Deeds then bring the
receipt of filing to the building inspector for the building permit. Failure to file or act upon the permit within two years will make the special permit null and void.
Agenda item #2 –Update from Building Inspector – Larry Gould
Discussion: There are new signs in the village district that have “popped up”. The owner of the sign has not contacted the building inspector nor the Board of Appeals. Larry will follow up with the owners.
Agenda item #3– Update for next meeting
Discussion: The next scheduled meeting will be Monday, June 5, 2017. The application deadline is May 10th.

Discussion: Nothing to distribute.
Agenda item #5 –Approve Minutes
Discussion: Minutes from the Cooley hearings January 3, 2017, February 8, 2017, February 15, 2017 and February 22, 2017 were accepted as written. James Kauffman made motion and all concurred.
