Attendance: Larry Southard- Chair, Gary Thomas, Terry Gould, Brandi Page, Derek Poirier and Becky Cushing Gop. On Zoom: Steve Hutchinson.
Call to Order: 6:31 PM
Approval of Minutes: The minutes from January 23rd were approved as written.
Miner Road: Derek was present to discuss the maintenance of Miner Road and recommend that we consider discontinuing it. The issue had been raised in 2018 and a public hearing held but the Board had decided to continue maintaining it. The only property owner off of Miner is Audubon. The Regional Director for Audubon, Becky Cushing Gop, updated the Board on the status of the property and buildings there. They do have a caretaker and his family living in one of the homes and Miner Road serves that driveway. Derek stated that the runoff from that driveway is an ongoing problem. The caretaker did address the drainage a few years ago but it has not been kept up on. Audubon wasn’t aware that it was still an ongoing issue. They very much want to keep communication flowing. Becky stated the future of the main house is uncertain and that eventually the goal is for the entire parcel to be rewilded. Steve Hutchinson from Audubon also spoke and mentioned the public use and field trips that the property hosts which is accessed using Miner Road. Derek also brought up a portion of Stebbins between where the State owns that he would like to see us discontinue maintaining. He recommended the Board hold a public hearing for both roads. The Board decided to move forward and hold a public hearing May14th. Abutters will be notified prior to the meeting as required.
Surplus Items: The Board discussed the items left in Harmony Hall previously used by the Rec department. The Board declared these items surplus and we will move forward with selling them. Brandi will provide the Board with an exact inventory and we will get them listed during the spring.
Poll Workers: The Board approved Lyn’s list of poll workers. The list will remain a part of the minutes.
Cori Policy: The Board reviewed Lyn’s draft Cori Policy. This will apply to volunteers and they did not have any concerns. They voted unanimously to adopt the policy.
Appointment: The Board unanimously appointed Lisa Crozier as the new Clerk for the Zoning Board of Appeals. Brandi will draft her appointment letter and get her the necessary items to get settled.
