LEGAL NOTICE

The Town of Otis, Massachusetts is seeking bids for Phase 3 renovations to the Historic East Otis Schoolhouse. All work must comply with the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties. General bidders must be DCAMM-certified. There are the following filed sub bids for this project: Roofing and Flashing; Painting. A Roofing subcontractor may serve as the General Bidder if so qualified by DCAMM. General Bids are due no later than 2:00 PM on Tuesday March 11, 2025 to Brandi Page, Town Administrator, Town of Otis, 1 North Main Road, P.O. Box 237, Otis, MA 01253 and will be publicly opened and read at that time. Sealed envelopes shall be clearly marked “General Bid for Historic Schoolhouse-Phase 3.” Filed Sub-Bids for the following categories are due at the same location no later than 2:00 PM on Tuesday, March 4, 2025: Bid documents can be requested by emailing Brandi Page, Town Administrator at townadmin@townofotisma.com. Contractors are required to have experience with the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties for this phase of renovation. State law and Otis policy prohibits discrimination. The selection of the contractor will be made without regard to race, color, sex, age, religion, political affiliation, national origin or gender identity. The Town encourages diversity and minority. The Town reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive any informalities, to advertise for new bids, and to award one or more contracts, wholly or in part, as may be deemed to be in the best interest of the Town. The Selectboard are the awarding authority. The successful bidder will provide insurance as stated in the agreement. A certificate of insurance evidencing the required insurance shall be submitted to the town prior to the Commencement of work and shall remain in force during the term of the contract. Bid deposit in the amount of 5% required with submission as well as payment bond of 100% and performance bond of 100% at execution of contract. The time for completion of the Work from Notice to Proceed to Substantial Completion must be no later than June 30, 2025. Liquidated damages for failure to complete on time are $500 (five hundred dollars) per calendar day. Notice to Proceed is expected to be issued no later than Wednesday, March 12, 2025.
