Otis Library Special Meeting Minutes

4:30 PM, Meeting Room, Otis Library
Sue Brofman, Chair called the meeting to order at 4:35 PM. Members present: Jim Adams, Tom Burke, Diane Dyer, Susan Ebitz, Lois Hall, Gloria Mamohkin, Carol Reife, and Celeste Watman.
Absent: Donna Rich.
Sue called the meeting to order at 4:35. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss how the Board would proceed to hire a new Library Director because of Brad Havill’s resignation. His last day will be on August 31st. A hiring subcommittee was formed with Tom Burke as Chair, Diane Dyer, Lois Hall, Gloria Mamohkin, and Celeste Watman. The group will begin meeting on Mondays at 4:30. Members of the first hiring subcommittee reminded all that there were great resources available the Massachusetts Library Board of Commissioners (MBLC) and shared and will share more of these materials.
Several Board members expressed gratitude for all the Brad accomplished during his fourteen-month tenure and expressed regret that he was leaving the library.
The meeting adjourned at 5:30 PM.
