Date to implement Phase two  Step two will be determined by the Board of Trustees in conjunction with the recommendations of the Director and the librarians, and the  Otis Board of Health and the Otis Town Officials.

 

The daily schedule of the Otis library will be set prior to open the library to the public.

 

With reference to social distancing The capacity of the library is 10- 12  people including staff and patrons, depending which areas are open.  Patrons may use the library for computer use, by making an appointment.  Patrons may pick up requested materials by calling the library to make requests.  Patrons may come to the library to select materials; this browsing has a 30-minute limit.  For additional services please call to arrange with the librarian. Admittance to the library is by appointment only.

The Library will allow 3 computer appointments offered to the public while continuing to maintain strict social distancing.  Each appointment will be 30 minutes in length, and an appointment must be made by calling the library at 413-269-0109.

  • Librarians are available to help patrons learn how to access digital services.
  • Patrons are encouraged to continue to use online services and resources in order to limit visits to the library.
  • . All items borrowed are fine free and all deadlines have been extended. Patrons can keep items if they wish.
  • Librarians can obtain materials, prepare patron requests for pick up, and potentially work with members of the public on an appointment basis using appropriate distancing procedures and personal protective equipment.
