MINUTES
Otis Cultural Council
August 21, 2024
This meeting was conducted in person at Town Hall.
I. Call to Order: 6:02 Present: Carole Burke, Jeanne Randorf, Arlene Tolopko, Deb Fogel, Shanon Albee, Carol Lombardo
II. Approval of the Minutes of 7/17/24: Arlene motioned to approve the minutes. Deb seconded the motion. The minutes were approved.
III. Chair Report (Jeanne/Carole):
A. The Juckets (August 18): The funds for the Juckets were taken out of the town account. The Juckets will perform on September 20 at the Farmington River Elementary School.
B. Grant Application Period: September 1-October 16. Jeanne will put an announcement in the Otis Observer and on the Otis Facebook page.
C. The Council discussed printing business cards for members to hand out to artists and performers to inform them about applying for grants. Jeanne has a sup[ly of cards that we can use in the meantime.
D. The Council discussed sponsoring a kids’ movie night in the winter.
IV. Financial Update Shanon)
A. All of the town money has been spent.
V. Recycling Program:
A. Deb reported that the program is doing well, we are very busy.
B. Jane Feldman approached Deb about joining the recycling team.
VI. Other Business:
A. Ken Packie sculpture: Arlene reported that it has been delivered to the school, and it looks great!
B. Council members will be cleaning out the OCC closet, file cabinets, and archives of old decorations and paperwork. Shanon will check with Lyn about how long we need to keep files.
C. Line Dancing at the Knox Trail: Sue will fill out a grant application, if Tina decides to apply for a grant.
D. Bruce Mandell wants to apply for a grant to perform at Paige’s.
The next meeting will be on November 13, 2024, at 6:00.
