Secretary’s Report

The meeting was called to order at 1:40 PM by Eila Bell

Present were Eila Bell, Jane Bernisconi, Dede Loring, Diane Dyer, Kendra Rybacki, Janci Haley, Eleise D’Votie.

The secretary’s report was read and excepted.

The treasurer’s report was read and excepted.

Trips update:

Diane and Elise said the trips are doing very well. There 44 on the Culinary Institute trip.  5 signing up this morning.  The trip is now closed.

The May trip to Aqua Turf featuring Debbie Boone is filling slower.

The July trip to Shoals Islands Is doing well.

41 people have signed up for the Margaretta Ville Trip to the Cape.

The Stockbridge COA has invited us to join then on a trip to Boston Harbor in July.

Eila suggested for Mother’s Day we offer gift certificates that can be bought as gifts. This could be a trip or an event such as the Paint and Sip Class.

Safety Issues:

A glue gun was left plugged in; a maintenance person found it the next day. It was very hot and dangerous. Four more glue guns have been ordered. They will have a half hour time span before shut off. A check is having been posted at the door. The last person to leave will check all elect plugs to make sure they are all unplugged. (They also include the recipe to make coffee***********)

New Business;

April’s potluck luncheon will be April 17th. We ask everyone to bring a spring center peace to share and then take it back home. Susan Aery will be entertaining with her keyboard. Kendra is checking on The Kelley Boys Irish Band for future entertainment.

Golden Cane: It was decided we would order two canes to be used for the Golden Cane presentation.

This would not be returned to the town. It would be a keepsake for families.

Out to Lunch on May 2,2024 will be held at The Frog Restaurant in Great Berrington. The Riverton Inn was also a possibility for June.

Eila has booked a Paint and Music with Kellyn Trip for May 18th. At 1 PM. The cost is $20 a peice.

We will keep the snacks simple.

We will try to book another water color class with Susan soon. She can only have ten at a time.

July 17th will be our Summer Barb-Q. It was decided that Kendra and Eila could do the catering (or organize the food).

The Menu will be: Hamburgers, hotdogs, suages, potato salad, macaroni salad, bake beans, tossed Salad with strawberry shortcake for dessert. Water and Ice tea will be served NO SODA.

Kendra will ask the fire department to lend us their grill. Eila will check on food prices. WE will charge $10 per person.

An invitation to their COAs will be sent out.

90’s Meat Market and Cosco, BJ, s are markets to price produce’s.

 

Sarah the Fiddler will be asked to play. The cost for Sarah is $500. Kendra will ask for a grant to help pay for the fiddler. It was voted and seconded to have Sarah the Fiddler entertain.

WE will charge $10 per person.

Quality is important-all away around.

Other Business:

Jewelry Class with Beth will be May 3rd.  she can only accommodate 10 at a time. Beth will bring all materials needed.

Flower arranging with Tammy Saloomey-Tavernia.  She will bring all materials. Kendra will arrange a date, time and the price with her.

Jane Feldman would like to come in and teach a Mahjong game.

Lunch at Tucker’s on Thursday was voted to cancel due to a storm coming.

Out to Lunch in May will be at The Frog in Sheffield.

Eila will discuss a salary with the grief counselor.

Meeting was adjourned at 2:40 PM.
