Otis Council on Aging
Board Meeting June 5 ,2024
The meeting was called to order by Eila Bell at 2PM.and
Present were Eila Bell, Janice Hawley, Diane Dyer, Kendra Rybacki, Dede Loring, Jane Bernasconi, Evie Loring, Pat Loucks, Elsie DeVoti and Nancy Kreis.
Treasure’s Report. 17,084 in the current balance. This is will be adjusted as the invoices for trips are received.
The end of the physical year is June 30th. We could send extra in the account on Postage and some chairs like the black ones we have chairs.
Treasure’s report was read and accepted:
The Holiday Luncheon at Tucker’s in Southwick. $31, plate.
Knox Trail Inn, Zucchini’s are being also considered.
The summer Barbeque: Kendra will be on the grill, that she will borrow from the Otis Fire Dept.
After a great deal of discussion, the menu will be Hamburgers, hot dogs, potato salad, macaroni salad tossed salad, deviled eggs, bake beans and strawberry shortcake for dessert. Lemon Ade and ice tea will be serviced.
The salads and the beans will be made by the group.
Flowers by Webster arrangement class has only 8 signed up to participate. Is the price to high?
Greif Counseling $ 125.00 per section. Kendra will talk to the councilor; how long will the class continue? Participation has fallen off.
50 of the small Otis Flags have been ordered and one large flag. The 2X3 ft. flag was $107, 8X12’ flags were $8. Each. A $100. Deposit was made as a down payment, with a balance of $400.
The library fair was discussed and we could not come up with anything to add to the venue.
New Golden canes have been ordered.
Diane requested more chairs for the round table so more could sit together.
We are asking people to pay when they sign up for the barbeque.
Also pay in full, at sign up for trips.
