MINUTES
Otis Cultural Council
July 17, 2024
This meeting was conducted in person at Town Hall.
I. Call to Order: 6:02 Present: Carole Burke, Arlene Tolopko, Deb Fogel, Shanon Albee, Carol Lombardo
II. Approval of the Minutes of 6/19/24: Arlene motioned to approve the minutes. Deb seconded the motion. The minutes were approved.
III. Chair Report (Carole):
A. Carol motioned to nominate Deb as secretary. Arlene seconded the motion. All approved the election of Deb Fogel as secretary.
B. Jeanne was reimbursed for the flower barrels.
IV. Financial Update Shanon)
A. The financial report has not been done yet.
B. Jeanne and Shanon spent all of the town money.
C. All grants from the school have been paid (field trips and show events).
D. There is approximately $13,000 in the recycling account.
V. 2024 Programs:
A. The Juckets: August 18 from 4-6 p.m. in the gazebo at Town Hall.
B. Status of Dragon Sculpture: Ken Paki is still working on the bench.
C. The upcoming grant application period is September 1-October 15. Jeanne wrote an article for the Otis Observer and will post it on the Otis Facebook page.
VI. Recycling Program:
A. Deb reported that the program is doing well.
B. Arlene is writing an article for the Otis Observer, requesting volunteers to join.
VII. Other Business:
A. Arlene has met some possible volunteers for the Cultural Council.
B. There will be an article in the Otis Observer about the daughter and granddaughter of Joan DeLevie, who were re-sealing the bench in her memory outside of town hall.
The next meeting will be on August 21, 2024, at 6:00.
