MINUTES
Otis Cultural Council
August 16, 2023
This meeting was conducted in person and on Zoom.
I. Call to Order: 6:08 p.m. Present: Jeanne Randorf, Shanon Albee, Carole Burke, Arlene Tolopko, Deb Fogel, Carol Lombardo.
II. Approval of the Minutes of June 21, 2023. Deb Fogel motioned to approve the minutes. Arlene Tolopko seconded the motion. The minutes were approved.
III. Chair Report (Jeanne)
A. COI Statements: Members must sign and return to Lyn O’Brien
B. Announcement of New Grant Cycle 9/01-10/17. Laurie Flower will let the teachers know about the grant cycle. Jeanne put the information on the Town website and in the Otis Observer.
C. There is a webinar on August 22 to learn about the grant process.
D. Ed the Wizard wrote a thank you note. OTP has also acknowledged the Cultural Council.
IV. Treasurer’s Report (Shanon)
A. Shanon reported that the recycling funds paid for the screen at the school, literary night, and line dancing (date TBD).
V. Grant 48X
A. We approved an additional $4,792.00 for the additional expenses. The total amount is $6,050.74.
VI. Recycling Program
A. Deb reported that the program has been very busy.
VII. New Business: We discussed sponsoring the following activities in Otis:
A. Movie Night
B. Meet and Greet
C. Welcome Wagon
VIII. Meeting Dates
A. The next Meeting will be on September 20, 2023.
B. There will not be a meeting in October
C. November 8, 2023
