Otis Library Building Committee Meeting Minutes

Members present: Sue Brofman, Stephanie Skinner, Stacey Schultze, Tom Burke, Steve Barry, Katelyn Chaffee
Sue Brofman called the meeting to order.
The committee approved the previous meeting minutes.
Stephanie shared that Mary, our Library Building Consultant, asked the committee, library staff and library board to complete a form with personal thoughts on a future library. There is also a form available for patrons to complete at the library.
Working groups shared their updates.
Construction-
• Sue will review the RFQ that Stephanie put together. Then it’ll go to Mary and to Brandi for review prior to posting.
Fundraising-
• We need to identify and reach out to the community to see who is interested in joining the committee. The working group shared fundraising ideas of varying scales.
Grants-
• The group is currently compiling and researching grants into one document.
Public Input/Public Relations-
• The group is working on gathering information that will be used as a reference for all future collateral and talking points for the committee and beyond.
• The committee talked about visiting the COA possibly every few months to provide information and updates.
• The group identified channels to recruit additional ways to communicate with the town.
• Stephanie is working on our website and exploring weekly newsletters.
The meeting was adjourned.
