MINUTES OF SEPTEMBER 12, 2018 COUNCIL ON AGING MEETING
Meeting was called to order at 10:40 by Ralph
In attendance were Ralph; Dottie; Joe Rock; Carol; Richard; Ken Retzel; De Egee;
Jane Bernasconi; Ann Pyenson and Maggie Curtin.
Minutes of our August 8, 2018 meeting were read. Motion to accept was made by Richard Cicchillo, seconded by Jane Bernasconi. vote to accept was unanimous.
Dottie: Treasurers report by Dottie –All current bills paid, we are getting timely bank statements; Our on-line banking is giving up-to-date information.
Ralph: Discussion on how trips are chosen and fit into our overall schedule, filling in between our annual events such as Bar-B-Q, Valentine lunch, etc. Jane suggested Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton show. After much discussion it was agreed to cancel our Broadway show and dinner at Carmines and put Aqua Turf and Kenny Rogers in its place. Mamma Mia at the Warner in Torrington was agreed on. The years activities were solidified.
Ralph: Entertainment with John Root was discussed. John has a variety of programs and it was felt that him performing during our Bar-B-Q on July 17, 2019 was better than during our pot luck lunch. The committee authorized a payment of $100.00
Ralph: Flu Clinic was discussed to be done during our blood pressure monitoring time on Wednesday October 10th. Jane to send in the form to Porch-Light.
Ralph: Town-wide effort to get rid of seldom used equipment etc. He asked what we had to clear out such as the old TV, electronic devices and entertainment
Center. Also discussed was an upgrade to our computer so that we could loop our trip pictures for all to see. We all agreed to get rid of the electronics and cabinet but hold on to the cubbies for a time and try to clean them out.
