Coronavirus Otis Update
A quick update to let you know what’s happening in town. We have no new information on any additional positive cases in Otis. The Board of Selectmen declared a local State of Emergency following the state wide Emergency Declaration by Governor Baker. This was done to allow the Town flexibility in dealing with unplanned expenditures due to the Corona Virus.
Please continue to check the links to the Center for Disease Control and Mass.gov for the latest public information.
The State of Massachusetts has been updating case numbers every afternoon. It’s important for us all to stay updated on the latest social distancing guidelines, directives from State and Federal Departments, scientific data, and also homemade products and trends to avoid.
Otis Town Buildings are closed to the public. We will reevaluate April 1st. This includes Fire Stations, Highway Garage, Rec Center, and Town Hall. The Otis Library and Farmington River School have also closed independently. Town business can still be handled online or through the mail.
Any essential board meetings still held will be located in the gym to allow for maximum space.
The Transfer Station is open normal hours. Sale of transfer stickers and disposal of paid items is suspended until further notice. We are not handling cash there at this time. No loitering please, for your safety and that of the employees.
If you have concerns or questions please email the Town Administrator at firstname.lastname@example.org. If you know of a need in town or have a service you would like to offer you can leave a message at 413-269-0100 x103 or email email@example.com.
