FISCAL 2024 REVALUATION OF REAL AND PERSONAL PROPERTY IN THE TOWN OF OTIS
In compliance with Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 40, Section 56, the Board of Assessors have completed a revaluation of all real and personal property in the Town of Otis, MA and have received Preliminary Certification from the Massachusetts Department of Revenue for all properties for Fiscal Year 2024.
The proposed assessed values reflect the full and fair cash value of all properties as of January 1, 2023 based on sales that occurred between January 1, 2021 and December 31, 2022. The revaluation resulted in total assessed values in town increasing approximately 8% from the prior fiscal year. Please note: year over year changes in individual properties may vary depending on the property type, overall condition and location.
The proposed values will be available for public viewing for five business days beginning Thursday, November 16, 2023 and ending Wednesday, November 22, 2023. Property owners can review their proposed assessments by clicking on the link provided showing “FY2024 Proposed Values”. Revisions to parcel data may be made during this public disclosure period. After that time, values will be set and submitted to the Department of Revenue for Final Certification.
