All Boards Meeting Minutes

March 26, 2018

The meeting was called to order at 6:30 pm in the Town Hall conference room.  It was announced the meeting was being recorded.

Present:           Select Board Chair Bill Hiller, Selectman Don Hawley, Selectman Gary Thomas, Town Administrator Becky Stone, Michael Ernst, Russ Loring, Lyn O’Brien, Jeanne Randorf, Terry Gould, Larry Gould

 

Assessors:       The tax rate has finally been set.

 

Town Clerk:    The Federal 2020 Census List updates are almost complete.  The Sign Bylaws that were passed at the Special Town Meeting were submitted to the Attorney General’s office on March 6th.  The AG has 90 days to approve the changes.  All 2018 Fuel Storage registrations are complete.  Dog licenses are still coming in.  New Voting machine training is April 19th.

 

Celebrations:   June 16th is the date for the Community Celebration and Wanda Houston will be playing.

 

Cultural Council:  They have wrapped up their 2017 grants.  For 2018, Michael Flower has received a grant for a photography clinic for kids at the school and he is looking for a place to display them.  Jeanne was informed he had already been to Town Hall to see what we had for the School’s exhibit space.  The Community Tag Sale is May 26th, on August 4th Cliff Brodeur is scheduled for square dancing at the Fire Station, and the Arts Festival is Saturday of Labor Day Weekend.

 

Energy:           The wind turbine is now going 24/7.  Payments should be transferred monthly into the wind MLP account.  We are tracking the power with three different meters: the turbine transformer meter, the production reporting meter, and the Eversource production meter.  The solar issue is being worked on.

 

Finance Board:  They are in the middle of budget meetings.

 

Building Inspector:  Everything is moving along.

 

MLP:               The checks have been delivered and April is the newest target date for connecting broadband to homes in Phase 1.

 

Planning:         Everything is good.

 

Police Dept.:   Bill read the email Roberta sent.  Calls are steady, school resource program is off to a good start.  Police Chief & School Superintendent were guests of Berkshire Eagle for a panel discussion on gun violence.  Kops ‘N Kids Kamp will be held in a few weeks and registration is available on Otis Police Dept. facebook page.

 

Technology:    They ordered a new printer for Accounting.  It is a used Ricoh like what is in the Selectmen’s office.  Accounting’s old printer will go into the Police Dept.

 

Zoning Board:  Nothing new this month.
